What happened in Vegas last night was tragic. Some of us need time to mourn, I understand that. The rest of us need to move forward.

We have a goal. We have to keep our eyes on the ball. We have to achieve something if we want to live in a safer world. That is the basic need or ALL OF US.

I don’t know about you but I don’t feel safe in public anymore. When I’m out, especially in a large public gathering, I always try to be aware of my surroundings.

Las Vegas Strip was hit by a domestic terrorist. Donald Trump failed to mention that this morning. Whenever a tragedy strikes and the person responsible is a shade darker than white, Donald Trump doesn’t hesitate to tweet about terrorism. However, this morning, on live television, in front of millions of viewers, where he had the opportunity to call this incident a domestic terrorism, he failed to do so. Maybe it slipped his mind, or maybe just like how he posted a video of white NHL players standing for the National Anthem, he has a more sinister agenda of racially dividing whites and nonewhites. That is not what I want to discuss here.

Earlier this year a majority of our representatives in the Congress along with the help of Donald J. Trump passed a bill into law repealing an Obama era regulation on gun sales to people receiving social security benefits for mental disabilities. In other words it banned people with mental disabilities to purchase guns.

The regulations seemed logical since you would have to be suffering from a mental disability in order to be able to take the lives of innocent men, women and children. HOWEVER, Trump and other Congress representatives who receive support from the NRA decided it was not an important enough regulation to have so they repealed it. They are ALL responsible for what happened in Vegas.

Gun regulations happen in Congress and If you don’t like what happened in Vegas last night, you have the chance to change your congress person in 2018.

DO NOT vote for a Congress person who is against gun regulations.

When a gunman opens fire they shoot indiscriminately at EVERYONE. They don’t care if you are black, white, Democrat or Republican. They shoot to kill. In order to create a safer tomorrow for our selves and our children, their coming midterm election, there is only ONE ISSUE on the ballot. #GunControl.

In order to create a better tomorrow for ourselves, the grieving people of Nevada can start with Mark Amodei, R-Nev., who voted for the repeal.

Them the people of Texas can vote Rep. Johnson, Sam [R-TX-3] who introduced the repeal out of the office.

It is absolute necessary to say that not ALL the representatives who repealed the regulation were Republicans. Democratic Sens. Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Jon Tester of Montana, plus independent Sen. Angus King of Maine crossed the aisle to vote in favor of the resolution.
