There is nothing more annoying than to swat away a fly, only for it to come back 30 seconds later and land on your face. Today as I was flipping through articles, I came across this headline by the Los Angeles Times:

Milo Yiannopoulos to launch Milo Inc., ‘dedicated to the destruction of political correctness’

Really? Do we really need this now?

Of course Milo Yiannopoulos cannot single handedly destroy political correctness, but he is not alone. Fox “News” and Breitbart have worked tirelessly over the past years (even decades) to create a group of uninformed, uneducated and ignorant individuals who say things like “Sure I believe Hillary visited a sex island on multiple occasions during her time as the Secretary of State”, and these people LOVE Milo.

Fake News is not a new phenomenon, but what Milo is doing is far beyond creating fake news. He wants to roll the clock back on political correctness and that is very dangerous.

Yes! Political correctness is like a rich chocolate cake, it’s DELICIOUS, and yet, too much of it is not good for anyone. Just like anything else in life, moderation is Key. We should not destroy political correctness because some people like to take it too far, just like we should not stop making chocolate cake because some people eat the whole thing by themselves in one sitting.

Just last night, I was watching the Sam Kinison’s “Family Entertainment Hour”. I admit, It was my first time watching ANYTHING by him so the first 30 minutes or so shocked the HELL out of me. After playing a rock song with his band, Sam went on to say: “This is the kind of music I like”, “ I am all Mc-Hammered-Out man”. “I hate rap music”.

Okay, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don’t like country music, I am not going to shout about it on stage but I think we all agree that no one should be forced to like anything. Soon after, Sam went on to say, “Do you know why rappers hold on to their dicks all the time? it’s because they don’t play any musical instruments, they are talentless”

Okay? I guess? I mean, to say that his statement was an over-generalization of an entire art form, is an understatement, but I guess he may not know that many rappers?…So he went on to say “Maybe someone like me, well not like me, like an assassin type, someone who is back from the war but still has some of his gear, let’s say he is watching MTV one day and waiting for a rock song to come on, and then, a rap song comes on…”. Then Sam switched to a disclaimer “I am not trying to plant any ideas into anyone’s mind…”, “But if you are gonna kill someone, KILL A RAPPER! If you see someone rhyming, KILL THEM!”

WTF? I wasn’t living in the United States in the 90s, but was it really ok to say something like that? On Stage? If he said something like that today, CNN’s Don Lemmon would have a field day on it. “Breaking New! Sam Kinison advocates shooting black rappers”. We (might have) come a long way since the 90s, and I know it’s not okay to say things like that today (just look at what happened to Michael Richards). I’d like to think that we have become a better society. Inspiring people, mentally ill people with guns, to go out and kill black rappers is NOT okay. I do not want to go back to the time when it was okay to say things like that, and I know a whole lot of people who won’t like it either.

That faggot Milo Yiannopoulos wants to take us back to that time. Yes, you read that sentence right. If you are thinking in your head, WTF did just happen? allow me to explain.

I know some people, mostly hard-core defendants of the 1st amendment, are gonna say things like “Sam Kinison, is a comedian, he was just kidding when he said that, or, he was being sarcastic, or, he was making fun of people who really do think that way. For those people, I’d like to refer you to a real comedian who tackled the usage of the word “Faggot”.

Louis CK has used the word faggot on stage MANY times before, but in an episode of his FX show “Louis”, he really tackles the word “Faggot” and its meaning. I encourage you to watch this clip, to understand how you can correctly be politically incorrect AND raise awareness at the same time.

Milo Yiannopoulos may be the ONLY gay man in the world that would want to go back to a time when it was okay to call gay men “faggots”.

But why, you ask?

Milo is backed by the same people who back Breitbart and Fox News. He is the latest puppet in the ridiculous anti-progressive puppet show that is doing the deeds of the Alt-right. He is being paid a lot of money to create a culture of intolerance, misinformation and ignorance. He is not the only one though. There many of them and when one falls, two more rise and they will continue carrying the torch and will succeed if they are not exposed.

If you see a gay man or an Iranian Jewish woman writing for Breitbart and wonder why, it’s because no one hates money and fame, but some people love it so much that they are willing to step on what they are and who they are, to “make it”.

The good news is that they are all wrong. They are all hypocrites and can be exposed and discredited. It might take months of campaigning, case-building and fact-checking but if the O’Reillys of the world can be exposed and pushed aside, Yiannopoulos shouldn’t be THAT much harder.

On the other hand, being absurdly sensitive and offended by every single thing and always wanting to stay in your “safe space” is not a good thing either. No matter how much you like chocolate cake, you have got to put it down at some point or you may suffer from obesity, diabetes and an array of different diseases. Milo’s followers may include people who are tired of overly-politically-corrected environments, and to some extent, they are right. We can’t live in a complete policed state at all time where people get in trouble for saying the smallest and most inconsequential things. If you want to know where the line should be drawn, watch the above clip again (and again) until you realize the artfulness of being correctly politically incorrect.

Milo is “hunting” for the next Milo so we should hunt for the next “Louis”. We should look for someone who can start (and extend) the conversation on the political correctness. We don’t need an anti-political correctness Bill Maher, we do no need a political correctness destroyer like Milo, we need political correctness educator like Louis.

Should Milo be shut down and stopped? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Should he be exposed for being a racist, sexist and transphobic puppet of the alt-right? ON A DAILY BASIS. Milo gives himself too much credit for having his finger on the pulse of the next generation and knowing what they want. The only thing the next generation is interested in is the truth and the only way they are going to get it is if the truth is one step ahead of people like Milo.

Milo Yiannopoulos on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher

As a society, we are far from perfect and far from open-mindedness, but all it takes to keep on the right path, is for a 15-year-old to see our (slow) progress. The minute that 15-year-old learns the way gay people were looked at for entering a public bathroom in the 50s, and the way they are treated now, they will learn that Transgender individuals should not be banned from using the bathroom of their choice. In his appearance on the HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher”, Milo, called Transgenders “sick disgusting perverts” who should not be allowed to enter public bathrooms. A quick history lesson can easily and swiftly discredit Milo and that is all that it takes to push aside people like him.

The only way to fight darkness is with the light. The only way to fight misinformation is with information. You are responsible for shaping our history. It is more important now than ever to stay informed and educate yourself about human history. Milo is betting on your ignorance, make sure his loses.
